Program Description:
Faculty International Seed Grant Proposal

Grant Scope and Requirements:
This seed grant, funded through a Vandal Ideas Project,  is intended to be used in the creation of a new University of Idaho Faculty/Staff-Led International Travel  (FSIT) program, specifically under the  Blazing Trails Abroad (BTA) program model which aims to offer yearly summer programs abroad in which students will earn general education credit. The BTA program was created in effort to develop a signature  international Vandal experience abroad for students who've just finished their first year at UI and will help them earn general education credit over the summer, thus making it appealing to students across the disciplines.

Seed grant amounts will range depending on how many applicants are selected. Awards could range from $1000 to $3200.

To qualify you must:

1) be interested in leading/co-leading a BTA program abroad in Summer 2021 or 2022, which features a 3 credit General Education course (ISEM 101, Humanities, Social Science or Science designation).
2) be able to conduct explorative research directly tied to leading a future BTA program in 2019-2020.
3) be a full time/board appointed faculty or staff member returning to the University of Idaho after the BTA program execution
4) be willing to work with Education Abroad Director to design, implement, recruit, and carry out the program
